In the 1960s an influx of technology was brought on. It was brought on by many things the war had just finished and people wanted to settle back into their lives and start families, there was also an increase in marriages and births from 1946 - 1961 people born in this time phase were considered ‘Baby boomers’ and there was an increase in migrants with over one million migrants in Australia before 1960 as after the war Australia needed help with reconstruction efforts. With such a huge increase in populations the demand for advancements in technology became huge. people were beginning to evolve and with there being so many people in Australia and more to come we were obliged to keep up with the rest of the world and its technology with transport, television, music, radio and home appliances. we had to build new suburbs and expand capital cities for all the new people coming into and to Australia this meant we had to learn to adapt to new construction technology and learn new ways of thinking effectively, alot of this involved technology and we got alot of the technology from America. From this we can see that the influx in technology in the 1960s was brought on by not only one but many things, mostly it was an increased growth in our population that needed new technology to survive as without it we would not have been able to house all the new people and we would not have been able to supply jobs or transport people places and we would not have been able to keep up globally had America not lead Australia into its technology phase of the 1960s.
